From Saturday, November 24th, to Sunday, January 6th, 2019, the city of Como will be illuminated by the Como Magic Light Festival, flagship of “Como Città dei Balocchi“, thanks to the use of projectors that will enhance some of the city’s buildings, recreating Christmas images that will dress the city in a fairytale dress. A show shared with the world through social networks, the internet and the photographs of the thousands of visitors who visit Como during the Christmas period.
Piazza Duomo, Piazza Verdi, Piazza Grimoldi, Piazza Roma, Via Fontana, Piazza Volta with the innovative project “La luce di Volta illumina la seta”, Via Garibaldi, Lungolago Trieste, Porta Torre, Piazza San Fedele, Chiesa di Quarcino, Chiesa di Ponte Chiasso, Chiesa di Sant’Antonino di Albate, Chiesa Collegio Gallio, and the Casa del Fascio, created thanks to the collaboration of Made in MAARC, will be involved in a scenic and evocative festival of projections that for years has been a strong tourist attraction.
Far from being defined as simple Christmas lights, the architectural projections of the Como Magic Light Festival, accompanied by the large natural tree in Piazza Grimoldi, are works that stand out for their high scenic value and conceptual symbols. The town is transformed into a gallery en plein air and is an essential element to convey tourism, culture, social events in winter, and the effect during the evenings is really enchanting.
