From Saturday, 25th November, until Sunday, 7th January, the town of Como will be illuminated by the Como Magic Light Festival, pride of “Como Toys Town”, that, thanks to the use of floodlights, will enhance some of the town’s buildings, re-creating Christmas images that will dress the town up in fairy-tale clothes.
The Cathedral, the Broletto, the Church of San Giacomo, the buildings of the Cathedral’s Square and of Grimoldi Square, the Bishop’s Palace, the Sociale Theatre, the Giovio Museum and the Volta’s Temple will be involved in a spectacular and picturesque festival of projections that for years has represented a great tourist attraction.
This year a new artistic project will involve the squares, which will become the heart of the exhibition, and other areas of the town, such as Vittoria Square and the tower of Porta Torre.
Each year, the Como Magic Light Festival takes Como around the world, thanks to photos and videos that travel on the web. Thousands of photo of the realized projections have been taken over the last editions and, for the second year running, a photographic contest will be reproposed.
