From Friday 20th March until Sunday 8th November 2020 at Villa Carlotta, Tremezzina, the exhibition "Natura e Delizie" will be open to the public.
In the nineteenth century, Villa Carlotta had an agricultural area for the cultivation of olive trees and vines, as well as a varied orchard.
The ancient traditions of cultivation, taste and the art of receiving are recounted in the exhibition through a selection of works of art, maps, documents and numerous objects, in particular kitchen utensils, which transport us into the daily life of the time.
A section of the exhibition is dedicated to wild herbs, their use in food and medicine, as reported by popular culture.
This model of sustainability is compared with that of our time: a selection of ten photographs, taken from the photographic reportage by Peter Menzel and Faith D'Aluisio entitled Hungry Planet, depicts family groups from as many countries around the world around their set tables, to testify to their spending and food choices in any one week of life in the era of globalisation.
