LacMus Festival invites the most ardent music lovers to the “pre-concert talks” – half-hour immersions into the world of composers and works that will be performed. If you are going to attend the concert “Musical Meditations at the Sanctuary” on July 16, 18:30 (or even if not) – we invite you to learn some secrets of this music at 17:30 before the start of the concert.
The pre-concert talk will be entrusted to maestro Andrea Manco, who has been the first flute at La Scala since 2014, and since 2020 he is also the artistic director of the "Glauco Cambursano" International Flute Academy in Imola. Cambursano was the historic principal flute of La Scala from the 1970s to 2000, founder of the Academy now named after him, and Andrea Manco was among its students. Manco is one of the founders of the Scaligero Baroque Ensemble in which he performs with period instruments, and of the Scaligero Contemporary Ensemble to which many composers dedicate first performances.
In the concert program the musicians will perform pieces by two French composers little known to the general public but with a refined and elegant style.
The sanctuary is reached by a scenic uphill walk of about 25 minutes starting from Piazza Papa Giovanni XXIII, loc. Ossuccio, Tremezzina (see map).
