The great cycling returns on the roads of Lombardy. Departure from Como at 10:20 am and arrival in Bergamo from 16:30.
The Lombardy returns in its original location in the fall - after the parenthesis ferragostana of 2020 - with a new path, very selective and that promises spectacle. In fact, there will be 6 climbs to climb after the departure from Como, with the climb of Bergamo Alta before the arrival, with 4,500 meters of total elevation gain.
We start from Como, heading towards Cantù, climbing Ghisallo as the first difficulty, but from the Asso side, to then descend to Bellagio and reach Lecco Lu go the shore of Lake Como. Once you enter the land of Bergamo, here begins an arduous route made up of continuous climbs and descents, with almost no flat stretches between one and the other. The first climb is the Roncola.
This is followed by the climbs of Berbenno, Dossena, Zambla Alta and Passo di Ganda, which bring the total elevation gain to over 4,400 meters. From Ganda you arrive at Selvino where the classic long descent begins, punctuated by 19 hairpin bends.
Here there are 9 km of approach to the city, the only flat ones of the entire final, and the passage of the Upper Town, until the arrival. Last kilometers, those of Bergamo Alta going up to Porta Garibaldi and then with 200 meters in cobblestones, to Largo Aperto. In the first part the slopes are above 10%memtre at 1,800 meters from the arrival, dry turn with short bottleneck to overcome the Porta Sant'Agostino.
After the last kilometer, a wide curve to the left introduces in the rectilinear one that leads to the arrival.
