Villa Monastero in Varenna is preparing to immerse itself in the Christmas atmosphere; the Province of Lecco has in fact defined a series of openings for the month of December and the first days of 2020, in addition to the Sunday openings already provided for in the winter calendar.
- From December 7 to January 6 in the Fermi room you can admire a crib of the ‘700 Neapolitan tradition.
- Saturday, December 7, the House Museum and the Botanical Garden will be open to the public from 10:30 to 16:30. Instead at 15:00 will be proposed a free workshop for the decoration of Christmas balls dedicated to children aged 6 to 11 years, who will be able to participate freely and take home the decorations made, no reservation is required.
- Saturday, December 7 at 20:30 in the room Fermi is expected to perform the female choir CorolLario di Dervio, directed by Lina Morstabilini with the participation of soprano Daniela De Francesco, will perform a repertoire of Christmas carols to recreate the magical atmosphere of Christmas. Admission is free from 20:00.
In the period of Advent and the Christmas holidays, the Museum House and the Botanical Garden will be open on the following days from 10:30 to 16:30:
- December: 7-8-15-22-26-27-28-29-30-31
- January: 1-2-3-4-5-6
From January 12, the usual Sunday openings will resume.
Up to Sunday, February 2, during the opening days and with the purchase of the ticket for the Museum House, you can also visit the exhibition Cards in …cantate – Antonio Ghislanzoni through the letters of the Archives of Villa Monastero and other unpublished documents and images.
