On Saturday 6 April 2019 Villa Melzi d'Eril in Bellagio hosts the Lake Como Camellias 2019 festival and organizes, together with Villa Carlotta, a journey into nature offering, through guided tours led by experts, a unique opportunity to discover the extraordinary botanical heritage and the ancient collections of camellias, the flower symbol of the Italian and European nineteenth century.

The appointment with the free visit to the camellias and gardens of Villa melzi is by reservation:
2:30 pm: Guided tour of the camellias and gardens of Villa Melzi by Paolo Cottini and Ernesto Mistrangelo. Reservation required. It will be possible to observe the flowering of both the historic camellias of the garden and those of the new collection consisting of about 30 young specimens from the mother plants that belonged to the nursery of the Rovelli brothers of Pallanza. In addition, visitors will also be able to admire the centuries-old citrus plants recently classified and marked, grown in large terracotta pots.
Saturday, April 6 will also inaugurate the portrait of Duke Tommaso Fulco Gallarati Scotti, a sculptural work by Abele Vadacca. This is one of the important novelties that mark the 2019 season of the Gardens of Villa Melzi d'Eril. The work will be inaugurated in private form, and presented to the public from the early afternoon in conjunction with the day of the Camellias.
