Bellagio Festival Orchestra
The Bellagio Festival Orchestra was founded in 2012 as part of the Bellagio and Lake Como Festival.
The ensemble combines the traditional repertoire, from the Baroque to the present day, with original productions, including operatic and theatrical ones, dedicated to the great artists who have stayed on the Lario (including Liszt, Stendhal, Rossini, Verdi), performing regularly in the most evocative mansions and historic residences of the area (Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio, Villa Monastero and Villa Cipressi in Varenna, Villa Lario in Mandello del Lario, Villa del Grumello in Como, etc.) but also at festivals and theaters in Italy and abroad.
The orchestra collaborates regularly with outstanding conductors and soloists, such as Raffaele Trevisani, Mario Marzi, Roberto Noferini, Fatlinda Thaci. The Bellagio Festival Orchestra has also presented in public numerous world premieres, of works by contemporary composers.
On June 30, 2018, the Bellagio Festival Orchestra was invited by the Consulate General of Italy in Stuttgart, for an event dedicated to Rossini for the 150th anniversary celebrations.
The musical direction of the Bellagio Festival Orchestra is entrusted to Maestro Alessandro Calcagnile.
