The Asparagus Festival
Born at the end of the 60's in Rogaro (Tremezzina) the Asparagus Festivil is inspired by the ancient local tradition of distributing, close to the third Sunday in May, the asparagus that were grown in the Plain of Rogaro.
Boiled asparagus seasoned with local butter and parmesan cheese, accompanied by the classic uovo al cereghino (egg in the ox's eye) were - and still are today - the protagonists of this event, which over the years has evolved offering traditional delicacies in the square in front of the medieval Tower of Rogaro, recently restored to its former glory, and in local restaurants.
From the Tower of Rogaro, a natural terrace overlooking the beautiful Lake Como, you can admire an indescribable landscape. Among the peculiarities of the event is the preparation of colorful bunches of asparagus offered by individuals and restaurants.
