The picturesque village of Pescallo, is located southeast of the Bellagio promontory, overlooking the Lecco branch of Lake Como. Arriving in Pescallo will be enchanted by this ancient little hamlet nestled between the green and the lake, rich in many romantic spots to be discovered that offer the visitor wonderful views.
Once known as a fishing village (around the early thirteenth century, the hamlet of Pescallo was one of the three Larian villages able to offer the largest amount of fish at the market of Como), today Pescallo is a real gem with a small harbor where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the lake.
The hamlet houses and narrow alleys that connect you to the center of Bellagio with a short walk through a stairway that crosses the promontory.
We cross this small village and let us pause for a moment in the first square to admire the wonderful landscape of this part of the lake surrounded by mountains (in the background the rocky Grigna - 2.409 mt.). Here we find the marina and the Sailing Club. Walking up to the second square cross a bow and discover a picturesque corner of this hamlet with the little Church of SS. Biagio and Andrea and the houses covered in ivy. Here we find another beach in the summer months where we can go for fun kayaking.
Arriving in Pescallo from the road you will see the greenhouses and gardens of one of the nurserymen of Bellagio, an important historical tradition that generations of families carry on for centuries in this area.
Pescallo is an ideal destination for sports, because in addition to the Sailing Club, this hamlet offers the possibility to make excursions in Kayak or experience the thrill of skiing.
An unmissable event that concludes the summer season of events in Bellagio, the Trophy is organized by the Sailing Club of Pescallo with the Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, and takes place under the patronage of ASDEC (Association of vintage and classic hulls) and the Municipality of Bellagio.
