Route stages

• From the Pier to Piazza Belinzaghi: the route starts from the center of Cernobbio, Piazza Risorgimento, where it is located the pier, in Art Nouveau style, in addition to historic hotels and cafes, the Monument to the Fallen and the Monument to Giuseppe Garibaldi and an elegant fountain, recently renovated. You can continue from here to Piazza Roma, where the Chiesa di S. Vincenzo stands out for its baroque style and the lively color of the facade, and then reach Piazza Castello, the first original nucleus of Cernobbio. Continuing along the alleys of the center, you will finally reach Piazza Belinzaghi, characterized by a large mural depicting a map of Lake Como;
• From Piazza Belinzaghi to Giardino della Valle: moving along Via Regina, just in front of Piazza Belinzaghi there is the Oratory of the Madonna delle Grazie. Another stop is the church of the Holy Redeemer; from here, going up Via Luigi dell'Orto and then Via Plinio, at number 44, take Via Adda to reach the entrance of the Garden of the Valley, botanical garden born from the idea of "Grandma Pupa", who transformed an illegal dump into the flourishing garden that can be visited today. Walking along the whole Garden upwards, you will reach the exit on Via Monte Santo;
• From the Garden of the Valley to the "ancient border of the Three Municipalities”: after visiting the Garden of the Valley, you can reach in about 15 minutes walk the church of S. Nicola, in the hamlet of Casnedo. Returning towards the center, you can admire some views of the lake, Villa d'Este and Villa Pizzo, until you reach Via Libertà, where, approximately at the current traffic circle, once bordered the three municipalities of Cernobbio, Piazza S. Stefano and Rovenna;
• From the ancient border to Villa Bernasconi: crossing what was once the "citadel of silk" in Cernobbio, you can reach Villa Bernasconi, the home of Davide Bernasconi, owner of the homonymous silk industry that was based in the area of Via V Giornate and who commissioned, among other things, the construction of the Davide Bernasconi Kindergarten for his employees’ children.

• Difficulty Tourist-hiking with uphill route and presence of unpaved sections and cobbled steps (stages 2 and 3).

  From Switzerland: motorway A2 direction Como - Milano. Exit “Lago di Como”
• By train
  You can reach Como from Milan or Switzerland (Ferrovie Nord, Ferrovie dello Stato, Tilo) and then go to Cernobbio by bus or boat
• By bus
  From Como or the Upper Lakebus line Asf C10 (Como - Menaggio - Colico). Departures approximately every hour.
  From Cernobbio you can reach Rovenna via line C28
• By boat
  From Como or the Upper Lake via Navigazione Lago di Como. Stop “Cernobbio”.

Parking is recommended at the Villa Erba parking lot.
