In addition to the traditional – and always wonderful – venues of the Festival in Tremezzina, such as Villa Carlotta, Villa del Balbianello, Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine di Ossuccio (Unesco site), Grand Hotel Tremezzo, this year LacMus will land in fact on the opposite shore of the lake for a concert in the splendid Villa Melzi d’Eril in Bellagio.
Moreover, for the first time, on July 10th it will host an extraordinary concert with orchestra no less than on the Comacina Island (the only island on Lake Como) together with the two artistic directors of the Festival, pianist Louis Lortie and the conductor Paolo Bressan.
But it will be above all the edition of the celebrations because many are the anniversaries that will be remembered in this year’s program.
Starting from the opening day of the Festival, July 8 at Villa Carlotta, which will offer three concerts (at 11:00 am, at 6:00 pm and at 9:00 pm) in the piano marathon “Angels and Demons” in homage to the 700 years since the birth of Dante. The second major celebration will be “Isola Comacina 100°“, dedicated to the 100 years since the return of Comacina Island to Italy by the King of Belgium, an anniversary which actually fell in 2020 but which it was not possible to commemorate due to the fact that the island was returned to Italy.

On July 11, Villa Balbianello will host a double celebration: one for the hundredth anniversary of the death of the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns and the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Argentine musician Astor Piazzolla, with the strings of the Trio Arnold and the participation of Argentinian bandoneonist Marcelo Nisinman.

Stories of musicians in Tremezzina, Lake Como” -, set up at the at the Museo del Paesaggio del Lago di Como in Tremezzina (CO) and promoted by the Municipality of Tremezzina in collaboration with the Association Ars Aeterna and the Schnabel Music Foundation with the contribution of loans from private collections and unpublished documents from Italian historical archives (among which that of the Municipality of Tremezzina).
For the first time – and on the occasion of two anniversaries that will fall in 2021: the 70th anniversary of the death of Artur Schnabel, and the 20th anniversary of the death of his son Karl Ulrich Schnabel – the exhibition will illustrate and narrate the human and artistic life of a family of musicians.

The concerts will take place outdoors and will be presented without intermission.
