The photo exhibition
Exhibition on Tremezzina, a landscape in transformation. The exhibition is centred on black and white images, made between the end of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century, which allow you to discover the layout of some significant places and to illustrate the metamorphosis of the landscape in a period that precedes the development of construction after the Second World War. Photographs allow us to highlight the change in land use, the construction of new buildings, such as hotels and holiday homes, the changes in the roads for the needs of car traffic or the disappearance of some structures such as spinning mills. The images also show the condition of some monuments before the twentieth-century restoration and document the changes in the lake front, for example in the village of Tremezzo with the demolition of the port and the construction of the new road, replacing the narrow driveway that developed under the porches. The exhibition has been realized thanks to the precious collaboration of the Associazione Culturale Isola Comacina, Mrs. Gabriella Arrigoni, Mrs. Marinella Lombardi and the Biblioteca Comunale di Lenno “V. Antonini”, who have kindly granted the images.
