On Saturday 29 June and Sunday 30 June 2019, the Pro Loco di Tremezzo organizes the traditional Patronal Festival of Saints Peter and Paul proposing the now typical Gnocchi di San Pietro, at the Borgo di Volesio a Tremezzo, Tremezzina (CO).
The history of the Patronal Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is lost in the mists of time. Oral traditions tell that, given the important appeal, even the shepherds of the mountain pastures, who had climbed to the Alps for a few weeks, returned to the village for a night to celebrate their saint, venerated since the mid-seventeenth century.
The evening before the festival, traditionally the village comes alive with songs and music that begin with the concert of the Corpo Musicale “Vittorio Veneto” in loc. Cà Brusada and continue until late at night with spontaneous songs of folk tradition. The same evening, before the concert, the Associazione Pro Loco for the past twenty years has been delighting the palates of locals and tourists with the particular Gnocchi di San Pietro, potato goodies with local butter and tomato sauce.
