The Municipality of Tremezzina, together with the social cooperative Liberi Sogni, which had already curated the realization of the community map of Tremezzina, organizes a series of free and open heritage walks that will involve local community witnesses and art historians, as part of the project Artway: Discovering the Artistic Heritage of Tremezzina, funded by the fund to support small and medium-sized art cities and villages particularly affected by the decline in tourist flows due to the COVID-19 epidemic for projects containing measures for the promotion and relaunch of artistic heritage by the Ministry of the Interior.
But what are heritage walks? They are guided walks driven by the narratives of local witnesses, who recount customs, traditions, and practices that residents still identify with even after years and generations. A walk to discover (or rediscover) the historical and artistic significance that the territory in which one lives offers, as well as new aspects of places thought to be fully known. These objectives also include the surfacing of buried memories, the acquisition of knowledge, surprise and enjoyment, the sharing of narratives, a sense of belonging, and emotions. The presence of art historians will also foster dialogues that are multi-voiced and interdisciplinary, allowing all participants to contribute, thus creating shared interpretations of heritage.
The appointment is for Saturday, May 25 “Tremezzo and its Villas”.
The event is free, registration required: [email protected] - 334 7368295
