Villa Carlotta, Tremezzina – Loc. Tremezzo, Como
Passeggiata creativa: “Canova, Shelley e la complessità della bellezza”.
In collaboration with Associazione Sentiero dei Sogni and Lake Como Walking Festival.
Conducted by Pietro Berra, readings by Claudia Cantaluppi and Lorena Mantovanelli.
In the bicentenary of the death of Antonio Canova and Percy Shelley, as well as the birth of Louis Pasteur, the route takes place between the museum and the park of Villa Carlotta and the stops are works of art and landscapes related to these and other great characters. Sculptures by Canova such as Palamedes, Tersicore and a copy of Cupid and Psyche, made by his favorite pupil, pursue the formal perfection and the light inherent in the material. The contrasting opinions on the outcome, expressed by famous visitors such as Mary Shelley and Flaubert, give us back the complexity of reality and its perception.
Meeting in the park, at the fountain in front of the villa. The event will take place even in case of bad weather, favoring the interior and indoor solutions.
