In accordance with the Prime Ministerial Decree of 8 March 2020, the opening of museums and places of culture is suspended.
The decree is valid until April 3.
The FAI properties will remain closed together with the parks and gardens. For the latter, the possibility of reopening them is being verified in compliance with the provisions of the Decree (prohibition of assembly and guarantee of the safety distance of one meter).
Friday 13 March Villa del Balbianello reopens to the public and opens the 2020 season.
Erected at the behest of Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini at the end of the 18th century, the Villa del Balbianello, now owned by the FAI Fondo Ambiente Italiano, sorge in the village of Lenno (Tremezzina), at the end of the Dosso di Avedo in one of the most evocative locations around Lake Como.
Because of its charm it is now used as a stage set in numerous film productions and welcomes thousands of visitors every year, positioning itself among the most visited FAI assets in Italy.
The access to the Villa and its splendid gardens is on foot from Lenno with an uphill stretch, which can be covered in about 25 minutes, or by lake with taxiboat from Lido di Lenno.
On the occasion of the FAI Spring Days (21-22 March 2020) Villa del Balbianello will be open to visitors with a free offer.
