Opening of Villa Carlotta - Season 2020

Villa Carlotta reopens to the public.

Following the new Decree issued by the President of the Council for Phase 2, Villa Carlotta is defining the last details to adapt to the guidelines and finally reopen its gates to visitors.

The date set for this start of the season is next Friday 22 May and from that day both the botanical park and most of the house museum will be open to visitors.

Upon their arrival, visitors will find a new and very modern reception area, a very large space to guarantee further distance and security, with turnstiles that will be used to monitor the entrances and will be able to provide real-time information on the number of people already present inside the structure.

A body temperature detection station has been provided, a mandatory and essential procedure at this time, and a “fast track” reserved for all those who have purchased tickets online, a recommended procedure to arrive at the right time and avoid queues and gatherings at the entrance.

As far as the actual visit is concerned, three one-way routes have been arranged, differentiated by duration, ranging from 20 to 90 minutes and taking into account any motor difficulties of visitors, guaranteeing them the widest accessibility.

The Ente Villa Carlotta has implemented all the measures required by the various ministerial and regional decrees, so the opening will take place in full compliance with the rules and in great serenity.

The intention is to provide a garden for those who do not have one, especially after such a long and unnatural period of isolation at home that has forced entire families to give up even the simplest outdoor walks.

However, apart from all the obligations and limitations imposed by this particular moment, Villa Carlotta has continued to think and act in a proactive way: as far as the park is concerned, new trees have been planted, some of which are part of the project “Adotta una pianta, salva la Bellezza“, the fundraising campaign launched last week on traditional media and the web.

Many events that included aggregation have been game force suspended but some live streaming is being organized for concerts to be held during the summer and, for example, for the awarding of the Golden Leaf Prize, a ritual that takes place every year and that you do not want to give up.

There are also some refreshment points that will allow the take-away of food and drinks to be consumed in defined areas and will also open the bookshop located at the entrance of the Villa, next to the brand new reception area.
