The traditional gastronomic festival of the end of summer, inaugurated in 1964 within the Circolo Fratellanza and now in its 58th edition, awaits you on 9 and 10 September 2023 the municipal park of Mezzegra, Tremezzina, with 60 kg of missoltini (agons caught, salted and dried by hand on Lake Como) ready to be cooked and served with a tasty polenta!
Missulten
Missulten or Misultin are a typical culinary specialty of Lake Como, especially of Tremezzina. They are called missoltini in Italian and misultitt in Como dialect. Their preparation is quite complex: they are agons, fish from the lake fished exclusively between June and July, deprived of the entrails, rubbed with salt and deposited in a muffler, still with salt. After a couple of days, they are rinsed and strung in a string, and then left to dry in the open air for a few days. The fish are then placed in a tin (misolta, originally made of wood), together with bay leaves.
