The Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini returns to Teatro Sociale di Como with Omer Meir Wellber on Tuesday, 7 November – h. 20.30.
Established in Parma in 2002 as a continuation of the Orchestra dell’Emilia-Romagna Arturo Toscanini historic and fruitful experience, a flagship of the regional music scene, today The Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini is considered one of the most important Italian symphony orchestras. Inspired by the values of the great Maestro Arturo Toscanini – rigour, talent, flair and commitment – the orchestra’s activity is characterised by a continuous search for quality, from the classical to the contemporary repertoire, from ‘chamber’ ensembles to the great symphonies.
Conductor will be Maestro Omer Meir Wellber, Music Director of the Volksoper Wien and the Teatro Massimo. In recent years, he has established himself as one of the leading contemporary conductors of both the operatic and orchestral repertoire.
This concert will be dedicated to Gustav Mahler, starting with the Rückert-Lieder for voice and orchestra created by the composer between 1901 and 1902 on texts by the poet Friedrich Rückert, sung here by German baritone Christoph Pohl.
