On stage at Teatro Sociale di Como Ying Li, on Friday, 15 December – h. 20.30.
Twenty-five years old, Ying Li won the 2021 Antonio Mormone International Prize and the Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions.
The programme explores original pieces and masterpieces inspired by history. The colours of 17th- and 20th-Century French harmonies are the leading themes of the first part, while the topic of the lovestory, revisited in a pianistic and creative context, is the focus of the second part. Humanity is a continuous evolution. Centuries of human history have inspired as many hundreds of artists and composers who, by mirroring the past and recreating it, have advanced our civilisation through time.
From Ravel to Prokofiev, all works could be heard in an orchestral version: hence the challenge for the pianist who finds themselves treating their instrument like a conductor grappling with their musicians.
