The Como War Memorial is an imposing tower, 30 meters high, opened by large windows and completely covered with Aurisina and Reppen stone.
On the inside, above the plinth, is a 40-ton monolith of Alzo granite covered with Anzola diorite, engraved with the names of the 650 fallen Como soldiers of World War I. Scendendo la scala circolare si raggiunge il piano inferiore dove in uno spazio ruotato di 90° vi è un altare; qui all'interno del basamento vi era il sacrario.
On the lake facade is carved the phrase “TONIGHT WE SLEEP IN TRIESTE OR IN PARADISE WITH HEROES”. October 10, 1916 - Antonio Sant'Elia.
On the back, however, “THE CITY EXALTS WITH THE STONES OF THE CARSO THE GLORY OF ITS SONS.”
It stands at the public gardens by the lake, next to the Tempio Voltiano and in the vicinity of the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium.
