Bolvedro is located near the lake in a privileged position, since it receives abundant sunlight throughout the day. The Bolvedro stream flows near the hamlet. Bolvedro is characterised by the presence of some majestic villas, such as Villa Sola Cabiati, named “La Quiete” (literally, Quietness) with an elegant Italian-style garden, the eclectic Villa Pensiero and the 17th-century Villa Albertoni Pirelli “Carlia”. Along the lakeshore trail tourists can also reach the church of San Lorenzo, the Teresio Olivelli park and the Villa Mainona, now home of the Museo del Paesaggio del Lago di Como.
