This is a beautiful ring that, starting from the hamlet of Croce di Menaggio, climbs along a cartroad mostly paved, to Bocchetta di Nava. From here a path, in the first part very technical and exposed, descends with a beautiful view of the center of the lake, Griante.
From Menaggio follow state road 340 in the direction of Lugano that leads along a series of hairpin bends to the village of Croce and the beginning of the Menaggio Valley.
At the traffic lights turn left into Via Wyatt, following the signs for the Golf Course. Past the entrance of the golf course, continue for a few hundred meters, until you cross a cartroad on the left. Take it, passing near the church of Madonna di Paullo. Continue on the cart road with some very steep sections following the signs of the path 2 of the Via dei Monti Lariani.
When you reach Bocchetta di Nava, at the height of a small chapel, leave the Via dei Monti Lariani, and turn left - on the southern coast of Sasso San Martino - Technical descent on rocky ground, and breathtaking views, but be careful because, especially in the first section, the path is very exposed.
The second part of the descent is smoother and after passing a flight of steps you continue for a small stretch in the woods to finally enter the paved road that you follow on the left. Go down to Griante and then follow the state road 340 to get back to Menaggio.
