Tea Time on the shores of the lake
Opened in January 2018, the Glass Cube is a modern and elegant bar and tea room located in the inner courtyard of the new Hotel Hilton Lake Como, easily reachable on a leisurely walk along the lakeside promenade that connects Como city center with the beautiful Villa Olmo.
An elegant glass cube flooded with natural light, overlooking the inner courtyard and the restored red bricks facade of a former textile printing mill, which now houses the main wing of Hilton Lake Como, is the new exclusive location where you can indulge yourself in the quintessentially British tradition of afternoon tea.
Forget the tea bags box usually offered in Italian bars, here you can choose among a lengthy list of fragrant loose teas: black Indian teas, green Chinese and Japanese teas, mint tea inspired by Maroccan tradition, herbal teas or the more sophisticated white tea. There are also craftily served teapot cocktails to choose from, while guests in a decadent mood can upgrade to include a glass of Champagne.
Your choice of tea will be served along with a three-tiered stand layered with light white-bread savoury sandwiches and sweet treats, such as chocolate-mousse cup cakes, mini banana tarts and the delicious scones served with jam and clotted cream.
Those who prefer the typical Italian aperitif, can enjoy a glass of red wine served with a selection of local charcuterie and cheese.
The place has a calm and relaxing atmosphere where you can enjoy your afternoon tea or aperitif sitting on comfortable sofas.
Prices from 24 euro per person for the traditional afternoon tea to 38 euro for the Royal Tea with Champagne.
