On Saturday 21st March the Lake Como Landscape Museum reopens to the public and inaugurates the 2020 season.
The Lake Como Landscape Museum is located in Villa Mainona in Tremezzo, the old residence of the Mainoni family, and is focused on the presentation of the environmental and cultural values of the Lake Como landscape with a special focus on the Tremezzina area.
A visit to the museum allows you to learn about the history of Villa Mainona and to visit the rooms that host the permanent collection. The collection includes a collection of ancient prints of Lake Como from the 16th to the 19th century, which offer a fascinating view of the Lario landscape through the illustration of the main localities and the most famous villas (Villa Carlotta, https://mylakecomo.co/en/attractions/villa-del-balbianello/, Villa D'Este, Villa Olmo) and a multimedia system for the presentation of the cultural and environmental heritage of the Lake Como area.
The multimedia system is organized on two touch screen tables: the first allows you to compare maps and historical images with the current layout of the territory and offers descriptions and information on the main monuments, the second contains a specific section dedicated to the "Cinema sul Lario" and includes short films, synthetic cards of the films shot on the lake and the indication of the places that hosted the filming (from The Pleasure Garden by Hitchcock to Star Wars II).
*A 20% off by presenting entrance ticket for Villa Carlotta, Villa del Balbianello, Isola Comacina, Museo della Barca Lariana and for FAI members.
