Sunday 13th June at 20:45 at Villa del Grumello - Grande Cedro in Como the event Giovanni Falzone Metropolitan Band will be organized.
The success of public and critics in the past seasons, the special atmosphere created by the fusion between jazz music and the natural environment and landscape of the park of Villa del Grumello in Como, have prompted to enrich the project -now consolidated- of Sunday jazz matinees with evening concerts, creating Villa del Grumello Jazz Festival, an event born thanks to the efforts of artistic director Flavio Minardo.
Villa del Grumello Jazz Festival welcomes at Grumello between June and July 2021 important musicians of the national and international scene, proposing also seminars of theoretical and practical deepening - not only jazz - and moments of meeting and enrichment open to everybody, by the musicians who will perform in the evening review or in the matinees.
Individual performances, tested groups and new formations will alternate around the majestic cedar tree of Grumello, under the sign of tradition, experimentation and creative contaminations.
This new and original formation brings together three musicians who have collaborated for a long time and in different projects and whose insatiable curiosity has led them over the years, without forgetting the common jazz matrix, to open up to the influence of the most diverse world music. Argentine tango and samba-cançao (Beccalossi), Portuguese fado and Russian folk romance (Cappelletti), Indian music and flamenco (Minardo) intertwine in this concert, in an indirect and filtered way, without the need of explicit quotations. The resulting project merges the different musical influences in an autonomous and original path with a lyrical, cultured, reflective flavor, not without flashes and flashes of rhythmic energy. The compositions, almost all written by Cappelletti (but some of them are by Minardo), express an intense, original jazz, never mannered, and leave plenty of room for improvisation and interaction between the soloists.
