Como Città dei Balocchi celebrates the genius and creativity of Eng. Alessandro Rossi, founder of the famous Rivarossi and father of Italian model railroading. The Palazzo del Broletto hosts the exhibition "Rivarossi, the factory of dreams". An initiative organized by the Committee "Monumento Ing. Alessandro Rossi", chaired by Prof. Vittorio Mottola with the Association COMOinTRENO president Arch. Roberto Ghioldi and Hornby official partner. After the gold medal of the President of the Republic awarded in 2003 and the Malgesini Award in 2021, the magical period of Christmas becomes the ideal atmosphere for a "collective" tribute to the man Alessandro Rossi, avant-garde entrepreneur and creator of dreams. Rivarossi is a brand that has become a symbol of the Made in Italy that for generations of teenagers, and not only, has been the dream of fun that has become a collector's item for many. Rivarossi is the most important brand of HO scale trains in Italy and among the best known in the world. Created by Ing. Alessandro Rossi, founding partner and president until 1984, it has always been synonymous with prestige and reliability, boasting one of the oldest histories in the world (1945). The years of the first model are long gone: the railcar AE 2002 FNM proposed in 1946, and the brand has passed from hand to hand until it reached Hornby in 2004 which owns this and other brands. The exhibition, designed and curated by the architect Paolo Albano, will be a journey into the dream of young and old, daughter of an Italian creativity celebrated throughout the world. An "open" path among the famous toy trains, masterpieces of the double R, selected and coming from private collections. You can admire objects, catalogs, and some surprises in 7 elegant showcases that will frame the well-known models including the modules of Cantù/Molteno provided by the Association COMOinTRENO. Each object will have a unique flavor related to its myth with which the double R has marked the history of railway modelling worldwide and involved thousands of fans. The exhibition will host some examples linked to cobranding - with Fiat/Ferrari or Mondadori Topolino - such as the scale model of the Ferrari of which Maradona had some purchased in addition to the'5 issues of the Rivarossi Topolino Contest just to name a few. The graphic concept "the train on the tree" bears the signature of Giulia Roncoroni designer.
