On Saturday July 8 a not-to-be-missed rendezvous with great dance: the principal dancers, soloists and corps de ballet of the Teatro alla Scala, under the baton of Director Manuel Legris, will perform a programme that includes pieces and excerpts from classical and modern titles, for an evening of the highest quality. The Teatro Sociale in Como is particularly linked to La Scala and known by the nickname “Piccola Scala”, since having hosted numerous performances of the Milanese theatre after the WWII bombing in 1943.
Between new works and repertoire, the Ballet of La Scala in an evening that brings together some of its most recently acquired titles, remodelled on the talents of its leading artists or created especially for the Company. A Company that opens up to the present day but keeps its history alive, and will feature the principal dancers, soloists and corps de ballet artists for whom these works have been created or rearranged, in a programme that embraces, with pieces and excerpts from classical and modern titles, the history of ballet, 20th Century sensitivity and contemporary creativity
