Friday 10 July 2020 the Lake Como International Museum of Vintage Boats, Pianello del Lario, reopened and inaugurated the new season.
Several news for visitors:
New elevated external walkways that will allow visitors to visit the historic steamship “Balilla” and the traditional gondola “Giulia” from a new perspective: no longer only from the bottom up but also from the top down.
Further novelty is the exhibition of two new boats:
- The “Freccia dei Gerani” hydrofoil, the last example of its type, built in 1977, which has carried out the scheduled service in Lake Como transporting with its almost 22 meters long, commuters and tourists until 2016. Saved from its demolition, today it is part of our prestigious collection.
- The boat “Il Nibbio”, a small boat also saved from demolition.
A new terrace on the lake that gives back an incomparable view of rare beauty on Lake Como.
With the reopening, all anti-accounting security measures have been implemented.
At the entrance, the temperature will be detected with a thermo-scanner and in case of a value higher than the norm, you will be asked to reschedule the visit. The use of the mask will be mandatory and a special horizontal signage will help visitors to respect the rules of social distancing.
No online booking is required, which is instead compulsory for guided tours, for groups of maximum 10 people and for participation in the various activities scheduled at the Museum.
