Winner of various international competitions, he participated in the advanced courses of the Accademia Chigiana in Siena obtaining the Diploma of Honour. Considered an important interpreter in contemporary music and an innovator of the instrumental technique of the bass clarinet, numerous compositions performed in important Italian festivals have been dedicated to him. He has held concerts and master classes as a soloist in prestigious venues in various foreign countries. He has been part of several renowned Italian orchestras including the "Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale" of RAI. He also teaches clarinet at the Conservatory "A. Vivaldi" in Alessandria.
Maurizio Barboro was trained at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. Awarded in national piano competitions, since 1980 he has embarked on an intense solo career that has seen him collaborating with prestigious orchestras and conductors of proven experience. In 1996 he was appointed "resident artist" of the State Philharmonic "Dumitrescu" of R. Valcea (Romania) and is the dedicatee of some works of contemporary American composers. He dedicates himself intensely to chamber music, collaborating with instrumentalists of international career. He teaches piano at the Conservatory "Paganini" in Genoa and holds master classes for European, American and Asian academies. Often called to join the juries of piano competitions, he is the artistic director of the International Competition "Franz Schubert Prize", the musical association "Alfredo Casella" of Novi Ligure and the chamber orchestra "Ensemble Felice De Giardini".
