Andrea Candeli (guitar)
Considered by critics as a guitarist of rare plasticity, versatile in technique and repertoire with a great ability to communicate, Andrea Candeli is a musician who shows a strong stage presence with a solid technique and a brilliant way of making music, full of attention to detail, the color of sound and dynamics.
In 2002 he held a concert in Vatican City live on Rai International at the Sala Nervi, in the presence of John Paul II. In 1993 he was awarded the prestigious Ghirlandina Città di Modena Prize. He teaches guitar at various Music Institutes. He has an intense concert activity in Italy and abroad, as a soloist and in various chamber groups. His curriculum is enriched by stable collaborations with Vito (Un bar al Portico), Fabio Testi (Concerto d’Amore in versi), Ivano Marescotti (Mediterranea), Ugo Pagliai (L’Amore ed il Flamenco), David Riondino (Don Chisciotte), Paola Sanguinetti and Luciano Galloni (Duo Sconcerto & Friends), Alessio Menconi (Tra classico e Jazz), Vanessa Gravina (Il Folle Volo).
Many concerts and tours have seen him as the protagonist in important theaters such as the Teatro Bibiena in Mantua and the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, and in prestigious venues such as: the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Cini Foundation in Venice, Palazzo Pitti in Florence, Sala Nervi, the Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi.
He plays with guitars by Lorenzo Frignani, Antonino Scandurra and Enzo Guido.

He has been playing since the age of eight. After graduating with top marks from the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato A. Tonelli in Carpi, he won several awards including La Musica nel Gargano; the International Competition organized by the Venice Biennale and the Competition for the national selection of the Italian Youth Orchestra, and was placed in the top positions in the European Selection for the CE Orchestra.
He still performs intense concert activity in the most varied formations, is First Flute in the Orchestra Filarmonica Estense and was a soloist during the national tour of the Operetta “La Vedova Allegra” with Lando Buzzanca.
He recently performed in Vatican City live on Rai International at the Aula Paolo VI (Sala Nervi), in the presence of the Holy Father.

This concert will take place in the Terrazza della Limonaia. The ticket includes also the visit of the garden. Box office of the festival at Villa Balbianello opens at 10:00
