Monday 13rd January, at 18:00 at the Teatro Sociale of Como "Night with the pianist Christian Leotta and Schubert's Sonatas".
The recital at the Teatro Sociale of Como is a special opportunity for the city, which combines beautiful music with solidarity: the proceeds will be donated to the Comocuore Onlus Association.
Christian Leotta will perform the Sonata in Sol major D 894 (Op.78), one of the most significative works of the Austrian composer's maturity and really admired by Schumann and Liszt, the youthful and refined Sonata in Si major D 575 (Op. 147), rarely performed, and the famous Sonata in Do minor D 958, a masterpiece of extraordinary expressiveness, composed only to months before his death.
With this concert Leotta approaches the conclusion of the titanic piano and musical feat dedicated to Franz Schubert, performing the complete 11 Sonatas for piano "completed".
Leotta performed this series of Schubert's works for the first time last year in Japan, at the world-famous Alti Hall in Kyoto, and was an extraordinary success with audiences and critics throughout the country. On that occasion he also performed almost the entire Franz Schubert piano work, presenting it in a cycle of seven recitals, which is still the largest series of Schubert concerts ever performed by a single pianist.
The musical event is realized thanks to the cooperation of the "Assessorato alla Cultura del Comune di Como" and the "Teatro Sociale di Como As.Li.Co."
Praga, Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Città del Messico, Panama, are just some of the international capitals that will see Christian Leotta return during the year, protagonist of his eleventh tour in Japan and his twenty-third tour in Latin America, as well as a series of concerts in Europe, Asia, America and Africa with programs entirely dedicated to Schubert and Beethoven, authors of which Christian Leotta is the first and only italian pianist (and one of the few in history), to have performed in public the complete cycles of the Piano Sonatas of both.
