The votive chapel, built at the behest of the Giacosa family, assumes a fundamental role in the context of the small cemetery of Sala Comacina; due to its location halfway up the hill, on the rather steep side of the mountain, the chapel is in fact also clearly visible from the lake.
From a stylistic point of view, it reflects the evolution of the designer, who was trained in the Modern Movement, but then advocated freer and more decorative forms. The asymmetrical facade with a circular sector, the shaping of the windows and the quotation of forms of traditional architecture bear witness to this.
