The building has a neo-Romanesque style facade with a loggia with five holes, where there are the statues of St. Stanislaus, St. Ambrose, St. Abbondio, St. Louis, St. Anthony, while the interior is very simple. The frescoes by Volonterio in the apse and the presbytery represent God, St. Abbondio, St. Ambrogio, the Holy Spirit with the four evangelists, Peter saved from the waters and the multiplication of loaves and fishes.
The choir dates back to the 40s and it is made of chestnut wood of various colors, from Monte Bisbino. Instead, the stages of the "Via Crucis" are imported from Valgardena and the work of the sculptor Cristiano Dellago

The Church was built at the beginning of the 20th century, at the will and expense of Luigi Dell'Orto, mayor of Cernobbio for almost 30 years, who wanted this church to solemnize his golden wedding anniversary with Elisabetta Lucca.
The engineer Cesare Formenti and the painter Volonterio were commissioned to design the church, who were also involved in the construction of other contemporary churches in the Como area.
The building was actually completed in the post-war period, thanks to the Dell'Orto’s heirs, and then donated to the parish, while the land around it to the Municipality.
In 1999 there was a major renovation of the presbytery that changed its original appearance.
