The historic "Va e Vieni" aerial cable car that connects the municipality of Argegno to the municipality of Pigra was inaugurated in 1971, after the structural overhaul lasted more than a year, the cable car resumed its run in June 2011.
The cable car's route is very impressive, in four minutes it covers a difference in height of 653 metres, with an average gradient of 71%, at a speed of 5 metres per second. The cable car is an indispensable resource for the inhabitants of the area as it allows you to quickly reach Argegno and the villages of Lake Como. Used by many tourists to reach Pigra and to make excursions to Mount Galbiga and Alpe di Colonno.
The construction of the Argegno-Pigra cable car by Badoni allows you to reach, in 4 minutes, overcoming a difference in height of 648 meters, the most beautiful terrace in the pre-Alps Comasche.
Two 12-seater cabins alternate along a route that has considerable slopes, from 71% to 95%, and allow the traveller to enjoy an incomparable view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The importance of this work is certainly not only tourist, in fact, it is still a real umbilical cord between the hamlet of Pigra and the shore of the lake where there is the possibility to reach Como or Bellagio by boat.
