A walk that is a long story, full of curiosity and memories of events almost forgotten. We explore the upper part of the western shore of the Lake, a land of partisans, the stage of the epilogue of Mussolini’s life, castles inhabited by freshwater pirates, breathtaking landscapes, ancient legends, and a mysterious and enchanted garden. Places almost ignored even by locals but hiding some pearls of extraordinary beauty.
We will see the ruins of the Castle of Musso, a place with a long and tormented history that for 10 years was occupied by the legendary Medeghino. Mercenary, pirate, and rebel, this historical character occupied the castle making it a hideout for bandits and thugs who dominated the Lario for over 10 years with pirate actions.
We will guide you through "Giardino del Merlo", one of the most fascinating and forgotten places of Lake Como. A "playful" garden full of exotic plants, bridges, and tunnels, created on the steep rocks that separate Dongo and Musso.
There will be stops in Musso, where the Mussolini column was stopped. There will be a picnic with healthy local food near the Church of Santa Eufemia, in a beautiful panoramic position, which has an ancient mysterious legend to tell…
