Sunday 20th September at 11:00 a.m. will be held a Walk through the Art Nouveau Villas of Brunate.
Meeting point: Piazza Bonacossa, close to the funicular station.
Price: € 15,00
Villago offers a guided tour of the old town of Brunate, the most representative village of the rich bourgeois holiday resort of the late nineteenth-early twentieth century. The tour will start from the square of the historic funicular railway, where the holidaymakers of the time found themselves between the product stalls and the "souvenir houses", then continue to the historic panoramic hotels and the beautiful Art Nouveau villas, to discover the two different forms of holiday. The participants, just like the tourists of the past, will be involved in the fashion and customs of the Belle Epoque on Lake Como: from the "tubs" of bejeweled ladies to the pastimes of men in frack, from modern aperitifs to elegant after-dinner drinks on the terrace.
Comfortable shoes are recommended, the route winds between ascents and descents for about 1.5 km.
