In this period of challenge and difficulty, Villa Carlotta is preparing itself for the rebirth that awaits it and - while waiting to reopen its doors to visitors from all over the world - wants to break down this imposed distance, transmitting messages of beauty and positivity and opening its windows to Art and Nature, which are its substance.
That's why Villa Carlotta is ready to come to you, to enter your homes, to tell and tell its story, the events and works that populate its rooms, its inhabitants and the paths of the park, which are dressing with the colors of a wonderful season.
From this atrium, with its doors wide open on one of the most beautiful views of Lake Como and on a beautiful spring day, begins the tour inside the "house of fine arts", as Giovanni Battista Sommariva - who bought Villa Carlotta from the Clerici family in 1801 - loved to call it. Sculptures, friezes, paintings, collectibles are on display in the bright rooms of the Villa that we will visit. Some have changed place over time but all of them are constantly cared for, preserved and restored to delight visitors, year after year, generation after generation.
Beyond the atrium, we will pass through the spectacular Hall of Marbles, the Hall of Plasters and the Hall of cameos and - little by little - we will tell you their works and stories.
