Thursday, August 5 at 8:00 pm there will be a concert by The Hipshakers Duo with Antonello Abbattista (vocals and harmonica) & Alberto Colombo (guitar) at Olde England Pub.
Hip-shaking blues & boogie, early r&b, shuffle, slow and swing with one of the reference bands of the blues dance scene in Milan.
Experienced musicians and a sophisticated repertoire that draws in abundance in the sea of lesser-known songs of the golden age of blues and rhythm and blues, from the '40s to the early '60s.
They start in early 2016 from an idea of the frontman Antonello Abbattista, joining musicians from Milan with a solid background in blues and jazz with the intention of making various blues, danceable, which is both fresh and respectful of tradition, where the protagonist is the richness of groove expressed in the blues.
Since then, several high-profile musicians have taken turns until the current line-up with Alberto Colombo, a master of blues guitar, Fabio Argentini on bass, also very active in jazz, and the master Gino Carravieri on drums. The band has a live activity that embraces in addition to Lombardy also Piedmont, Liguria, Emilia, Veneto and Switzerland, has participated in numerous events and festivals and opened concerts of great artists such as Watermelon Slim and Nine Below Zero.
