We continue Saturday 6th July with the duo composed of Paolo Fresu and Omar Sosa, one of the most popular and loved formations, both in Italy and abroad, capable to create sound and conceptual bridges between two different worlds. They will bring to Como the new project Food, which goes through the food topic and a world narrated with music and addresses the topic from the perspective of taste, aesthetic, and ethic.

Festival Como City of Music reaches its seventeenth edition, always directed and organized by Theatre Sociale Como-AsLiCo, in collaboration with Società dei Palchettisti and with the contribution of the Municipality of Como, with the shared idea that the culture has a fundamental role in the development of the city, both for citizens and tourists.
The title this year, as tradition, is taken from the participative opera of the Teatro Sociale, Turandot, that will inaugurate the Festival: Dilegua o notte! are in fact words from Calaf during the Nessun dorma.
Food (2023), produced jointly by Paolo Fresu and Omar Sosa for Tǔk Music, completes the trilogy of the duo's previous works Alma (2012) and Eros (2016). With contribution from various guests, it investigates the theme of food and its world, narrating it in music and treating it from the perspective of taste, aesthetics, and ethics. For an entire year, the sounds of cellars and restaurants were recorded as well as the voices of those who work in these places. Mechanical sounds of presses and delicate clinking of glasses, oil frying, wine poured into a glass or a knife cutting a carrot as well as narrative voices in Italian, Sardinian, Friulian, Spanish, French, English, Japanese. These are tales of recipes, culinary settings and sociability. Food obviously wants to investigate the pleasure of taste, conviviality, discovery and dialogue, but also the importance of healthy eating, as well as reflect on the global situation of food on the Planet and its precarious sustainability.
The duo composed of Paolo Fresu and Omar Sosa is now one of the best known and loved groups, both in Italy and abroad, capable of creating sonic and conceptual bridges between two seas and two continents and of refining, concert after concert, their own musical proposal. Fresu and Sosa dance; they dance in a Latin way around the winning mix of jazz, Cuban music, Africa, and world music that they have managed to create. And if Fresu is now that important icon of contemporary music that everyone recognizes, an increasingly stimulating and wide-open horizons in Sosa is surprising. The almost polyphonic structure and the extreme care, in terms of sound, of the new album are reflected in a live performance with multiple inputs, fun, profound and technically impeccable.
In case of rain or unfavorable weather, Arena performances will be held on the same evening at Teatro Sociale di Como, without sets. Each seating area of the Arena has a corresponding seating sector in the Theatre.
