In 1703, the church, of medieval origin, was expanded and transformed, until arriving at its current appearance. The works of art of the presbytery dominate the single-nave interior: the altarpiece portraying a Madonna with Child and Saints which dates back to the fourth decade of the 17th century and was painted by Giovanni Mauro della Rovere, known as il Fiammenghino; the wooden choir dating back to the same period; the Saint Bartholomew’s Glory, frescoed on the vault by Carlo Carloni.
Several baroque paintings are displayed on the nave walls and on the side chapels.
