In the ancient village of Cadenabbia, after a steep staircase, there is the church of San Giuseppe that dominates the beautiful Lake Como and the entire village. With an old but majestic stature, the church dates back to 1600 when it was built by an Augustinian merchant named Carlo Brentano Mezzegra.
The church has a central nave with a portico and boasts an altarpiece depicting the Madonna and Child, Carlo and San Giuseppe.
The Church of St. Joseph is open to the public on St. Joseph’s Day and Father’s Day on March 19, when Holy Mass is celebrated, followed by the feast in which visitors are served the famous delicious tortelli.
