The Sanctuary of S. Marta is a jewel of ancient origins with a characteristic Romanesque bell tower. It was the first parish church of the town and still today it is rich in frescoes and stuccoes of various periods such as the beautiful devotional paintings of the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries dedicated to the titular saint.
On the occasion of the 2022 edition of the International Tourist Guide Day, which is celebrated on February 21st, established by WFTGA (World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations) and promoted in Italy by ANGT (National Tourist Guide Association) in Como and its province (also Lecco) many guided tours are planned.
The day aims to introduce to the general public a professional figure, socially and culturally among the most useful, for the precious and delicate role of mediation that plays and for its work of dissemination of knowledge, but also to invite to be wary of illegal guides not qualified for the profession, to protect, among other things, the rights of the consumer.
The guides will take you with enthusiasm to discover the most beautiful treasures of our territory, proposing unusual itineraries or little practiced. It will be an opportunity to admire interesting artistic and scenic beauty and learn about its history.
