The municipalities of Colico and Plesio host the contemporary art exhibition SIMBIOSI, July 29-31 in Fontanedo (Colico) and August 3-16 in Corenno Plinio (Dervio).
A diffuse art project curated by Paola Bonotto with the collaboration of the Municipality of Colico and the Municipality of Dervio, the Pro Loco of Colico and Dervio, the White War Museum and the contribution of private individuals.
The aim and purpose of the SIMBIOSI art project is to present contemporary art in places not intended to receive it, outside the conventional art circuits in unusual and long unused spaces.
Places in the territory that are still little known and deserve to be enhanced and revitalized, because it is extremely important to relate to people in order not to turn them into museums to visit but into spaces where they can interact, meet and communicate.
Places where generations can dialogue and exchange synergies.
Not just places of memory but places of experimentation and transformation. For this reason, artists from other territories (from Romagna) have been involved in order to diversify and increase the cultural offer aimed at residents and tourists.
One of the goals is to raise awareness of the importance of art and culture by making sure to abandon the cliché that contemporary art is reserved only for an elite and understood only by a few people.
Getting close to culture opens the mind and nourishes the spirit, making everyday life more peaceful.
The artists planned to relate to each other in such a way that each individual project could multiply and spread by involving as many people as possible, from associations to municipal agencies in charge to private supporters of the initiative and all those who would like to approach so that they could become co-creators of new perspectives.
July 29 at 6 p.m.: Inauguration in Fontanedo (Colico) with Mayor Monica Gilardi and White War Museum Director Stefano Cassinelli.
There will be a jazz musical moment and the extraordinary participation of artist and performer Giordano Bezzi.
July 29-31 - FONTANEDO: Collective installation among the ruins of an ancient settlement in the municipality of Colico, where the defensive tower with the seductive view stands out.
Aug. 3 at 6 p.m.: Inauguration in Corenno Plinio (Dervio) in the presence of the mayor of Dervio Stefano Cassinelli.
Aug. 3 to 16 - CORENNO PLINIO: Exhibition spread in the medieval village of a thousand steps on the shores of Lake Como.
Artists will enter into symbiosis with the inhabitants and together with them reopen the spaces of the past time.
Visitors will easily find the chosen locations (which are indicated in the map on the poster) from the parsonage to the spinning mill, via old cellars on the street,
7 Artists, with scattered works, but united to create new relationships with those who wish, sharing the ideals of art, joy and beauty.
