On the occasion of the FAI Spring Days, March 26th - 27th 2022 we organize the guided tour "Moltrasio: an ancient history of water and stone".
Starting from the lake, step by step, along typical stairways and ancient bridges, we reach the village. Skirting the Pizzallo torrent, we continue up to the quarries, in a journey to rediscover the ancient economy of Moltrasio, characterized by the activity of mills and the extraction of stone that takes its name of stone Moltrasio. For the occasion will be visible the last mill remained preserved and will be set up a demonstration point with the tools of picapreda. We descend to the hamlet of Crotti to visit an ancient crotto, exceptionally open thanks to a private individual, and then end the route near the church of Sant'Agata, another property open during the FAI Spring Days for which a visit is planned with another reservation.
Notes for the visit
The visit will begin from Piazza S. Rocco and it is possible to extend the duration of the visit to 2h 30 '. The departure of the visit is from Piazza S. Rocco, duration of about 2h 30 ', height difference of 200 m. Comfortable clothing and water bottle are recommended. The visit ends at the church of Sant'Agata, another good open for the FAI Spring Days. There are parking lots along State Road 340 "Regina", near the church of S. Martino and the pier. It is advisable to use the boats that from Tavernola stop in Moltrasio in Piazza S. Rocco.
