Sunday, November 14 at 08:45 in Cernobbio is organizing the event "Excursion: overlooking the lake from Cernobbio to Laglio".
The mountains of the Lario are traditionally rich in building materials, fossils and various minerals that have been used by man for thousands of years to create his works. A little north of Como, on the steep slopes of Mount Bisbino, emerge the quarries of Moltrasio Limestone, a tenacious but easily workable rock arranged in regular layers that facilitate processing. Used in abundance since Roman times, with the limestone of Moltrasio were built all the buildings of Como and the lake at least until the Second World War.
A paved path overlooking the lake, the Sentèe di Sort, connects the quarries with the hamlet of Casarico in the village of Moltrasio and will allow us to enjoy a fantastic view of the lake and explore what remains of these extraordinary works of human ingenuity, used until a few decades ago. We will then continue to Laglio on the Via Verde, from here on quiet walk between stone villages, shrines and cobbled streets, always with the lake to accompany and cheer the path. Our route will end right in front of Villa Oleandra where who knows, maybe, we will find the beautiful George to welcome us.
Meeting Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 08:45 am in Cernobbio (CO), the exact location will be indicated to participants.
Departure h.09:00, return to the car expected h.17:00 approx. Duration of the run: 8 hours around comprehensive of numerous standstills between which for lunch to the bag. Trail length: 11 km itinerary with a difference in altitude of 530 m approx. Return to the car by bus departing from Laglio at 16:21, arrival in Cernobbio at 16:33 approx.

Route characteristics
The route has a medium difficulty: ATTENTION and SAFE STEP are required to face some exposed sections on the first part of the path (NO VERTIGINS); a minimum of TRAINING is also required to face some uphill sections with high gradient and to walk for the whole day with frequent stops for explanations. In the second part of the day instead we will walk on very simple paths and mainly downhill through the villages of Moltrasio, Carate, Urio, until you reach Laglio. Registration required by Saturday, November 13, h.12:00 (limited places). Payment on site before the beginning of the excursion (cash or credit card with invoice). In case of cancellation of the reservation in the 48 hours before the event will still be required to pay the full fee.
In case of bad weather the event can be cancelled or postponed with communication to the participants within the day before the event.
