In Menaggio in the locality Castello there is the Fonte del “Salvatore”.
This fountain, with a stone basin preceded by a step, housed under a small balcony of a house, presents in the arch above, as keystone, a Romanesque sculpture of recovery, presumably dating back to the twelfth century and interpreted as Jesus Christ holding a rounded object.
On the right a plate reports that the fountain has been realized "A pubblica utilità" and the date 1621; at the base of the arch on the left is engraved the date 1642.
