German by origin, Agnes Duerrschnabel has always been passionate about ceramics and has lived in the province of Como for over 30 years. Here she worked for the court and in publishing as a German interpreter and translator, never losing sight of her passion for literature, art, history and nature.
In 2012, after a five-year course in Germany, she became a ceramics designer and trainer and in 2013 she opened an atelier in Como, in the building of the ancient monastery of Santa Margherita. It is a location of historical interest, with cross vaults and exposed columns capable of conveying a unique atmosphere to those who work there and those who visit it.
She creates above all with gres and porcelain to give life to artistic objects and unique pieces, sometimes inserting natural finds such as marine wood and stones.
At her atelier you can see and buy artistic creations or order personalised works.
The artist, on request, also organizes ceramic workshops for those who want to try a creative experience through the experimentation of basic techniques of ceramics and create everyday objects for themselves or to donate.
Her motto is: "you must respect the memory, enhance the existing and make dreams come true, with your own hands".
