Sunday 20th September at 6.00 p.m., in the splendid Palazzo Gallio in Gravedona and Uniti, the second of the six events of the XXXIII Festival Pianomaster will take place.
The violin and piano concert will be performed by Joaquin Palomares and Andrea Rucli.
Joaquin Palomares is considered by music critics to be one of the best Spanish violinists of our time.
Graduated in violin and chamber music with special mention in the Conservatories of Valencia and Brussels under the guidance of Alos, Leon-Ara, Kleve, de Canck and van den Doorn, he completed his training with the V virtuosos. Klimov, D. Zsigmondi and A. Rosand (heir of the School of Auer, Heifetz and Zimbalist) from whom he learns a romantic-virtuoso style recognized by national critics (El País wrote about him: "A violinist with extraordinary technique, powerful and incisive sound, which has imposed at all times the indisputable law of the virtuoso") and international ("A poet-virtuoso with Latin temperament", Stuttgarter Zeitung).
With his debut as a soloist when he was only 15 years old in Beethoven's Violin Concerto, he began an artistic career that took him to the best venues in Europe and Japan: Konzerthaus in Vienna and Oslo, Auditorio Nacional, Teatro Real, Palau, etc.. He has performed with the most prestigious orchestras (National Orchestra of Spain, RTVE, Mozart Orchester of Vienna, Virtuosi of the Berlin Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestras of Lodz and Venice, etc.) and with conductors such as Maazel, Jurowski, Chernouschenco, participating in the Festivals of Santander, Granada, Spoleto, Avignon, Montecarlo.
He regularly collaborates with musicians such as J. Levine, B. Canino, A. Rosand, R. Aldulescu, C. Delangle and F. Petracchi. He has made many recordings, obtaining the nomination for the 1999 Gramófono Awards with a CD on Milhaud. The most recent recordings are dedicated to the Violin and Orchestra Concertos by Beethoven, Hindemith, Chausson, Serebrier and Montesiones and have received great praise from critics. He plays on a magnificent violin Nicolaus Gagliano (Naples, 1761) and on a Roberto Regazzi (Bologna, 2003).
Andrea Rucli graduated in principal piano at the "L.Cherubini" Conservatory of Florence with full marks and praise under the guidance of M° Alessandro Specchi.
He was first a pupil, then a partner in a piano duo and assistant for more than 10 years, of the Russian pianist Konstantin Bogino, while now he has been continuing for several years a fully satisfying association of art and friendship with the violist and composer Vladimir Mendelssohn. He has taken part in prestigious chamber music festivals, including those in Portogruaro (for nine years of which seven years in a row), the Settimana Musicale at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Kuhmo in Finland (where he will be a guest for the twelfth time in 2018), the Società della Musica da Camera at the Teatro dell'Ermitage in St. Petersburg, the Sound Jerusalem in Israel, the Pontino Festival, the Cantiere di Montepulciano, etc..
In the world premiere he recorded works for piano solo and chamber music by the Russian composer Ella Adaiewsky, the crowning achievement of a rediscovery work promoted by the Sergio Gaggia Association, which was also covered by the magazines Amadeus, Musica and Radio 3 Suite.
In June 2011 another CD was released with works by the Russian composer for the prestigious label DYNAMIC. In 2013 Bongiovanni released a CD with music by the composer Piero Pezzè from Udine, with interventions both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. Also in 2014 the Bolognese house has published another CD with the transcriptions of Heifetz for violin and piano with Lucio Degani. In January 2010 and February 2013 he performed for the "Concerti del Quirinale" live on the 3rd RAI channel and on the Euro Radio circuit, presenting respectively "La Pantomima Rinata", a production of Gaggia 2006, Vladimir Mendelssohn's musical reconstruction of W.A.Mozart's Pantomima k446, with a commedia dell'arte specially written by Quirino Principe and a programme built for Memorial Day.
He made his debut in November 2015 as soloist with orchestra in the Brahms hall of the Musikverein in Vienna.
